50/50 Fest Values

For four days you immerse yourself in a world that is really different!
You arrive on Friday and leave on Monday.

You are the program! You shine and share!

You’ll meet people and groups who show the moste beautiful aspects of themselves, trough which they shine. This can be anything, big or small—it doesn’t matter. Feel free to think outside the box! Participants contribute with an act, a bar, breakfast, a performance, a workshop, or a delicious dish. Each participant contributes to the 50/50 Fest in their own unique way. Your gift doesn’t have to reach everyone; if only a few people experience it, that’s perfectly fine. Keep in mind: it’s a gift, not an exchange.

You are self-reliant!
At the 50/50 Fest, there’s nothing for sale. You are responsible for bringing everything you’ll need for the weekend. This includes food (cold snacks) and drinks for the entire event, as well as practical items like extension cords if your gift requires power. Drinking water, toilets, and showers are available, and power can be provided for your gift upon request.

Leave no Trace!
Make sure there is no trace of us in and around the castle. There are no trash bins, so you’ll need to take all your waste home. Plan carefully what you bring to the Fest — use a reusable cup for drinks and think about the environmental impact of your gift to avoid leaving behind waste. Note that glitter and stickers are not allowed, as they create waste that wil not leave. Prepare in advance to ensure your visit leaves no trace.

We’re guests at a beautiful location. Respect the hospitality, trust, and freedom we’ve been granted. If you use a space, return it to its original state, including furniture arrangements. Avoid attaching anything to walls that might cause damage. Should any damage occur, notify us immediately. You are responsible for any damage you cause.

Free from outside influences
This weekend, we celebrate humanity. Set aside advertisements and political statements, and leave the big, harsh world behind. Together, we create a bubble of unity, where we uplift and strengthen one another.

No discrimination of any kind
This includes, but is not limited to, discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or socioeconomic status. We focus on each other and the present moment, creating a truly “whoouw” experience together.

No photos
Respect everyone’s privacy and always ask for permission before capturing or sharing images of others. In certain areas designated with a sign, phones are strictly prohibited.

Yes is yes!
In a space with so much freedom, personal boundaries can sometimes blur. Respect each other’s personal space and always ask for consent. Yes means yes—anything else means no. Respect others’ boundaries. Harassment and unwanted advances will not be tolerated, including unwelcome remarks, touches, or gestures of a sexual nature. If someone expresses discomfort, respect their boundaries immediately.
If you ever feel unsafe or uncomfortable, reach out to the 50/50 organization team. Check in with one another, and when in doubt, ask for consent—better to check too often than not enough.

Take care of yourself and others (ears included!)
Create a safe environment for yourself and others. Take care of your body: eat and drink enough, and protect your ears. Trust one another and be ready to support your fellow Festers if needed. The fest is not a good place for animals, so no pets allowed.
